Obituary for Charles E. Smith
Mr. Charles Edward Smith entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Emanuel County Nursing Facility. He was born on March 27, 1943 in Emanuel County the the late Sonny Smith and Rosa Nell Smith, both of Emanuel County, Georgia. He was the twenty-fourth child of twenty-eight children. Also, he was a devoted husband to Madeline Smith of Vidalia, Georgia. Charles attended school in Emanuel County. He was a brick mason by trade and traveled all over the country during his lifetime.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: three daughters: Mrs. Barbara (Donald) Dixon of Vidalia, Georgia, Mrs.Teresa (Lee) Lassiter of Millen, Georgia, and Mrs. Shirley (Walter) Stapleton of Metter, Georgia; four sisters: Ms. Lula Brown of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Ms. Garnette Jones of Houston, Texas, Ms. Alzenia Hamlin of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Mrs. Rosa (Jerry) Williams of Swainsboro, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Sonny Smith Jr., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Mr. David (W. Peal) Smith of Dublin, Georgia; a special friend, Ms. Sadie Oglesby; two sisters-in-law and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
