Obituary for Daisy Alvin Johnson
Mrs. Daisy Alvin Johnson entered into eternal rest on November 23rd from the Candler County Hospital after a short illness. She was born on January 14, 1930 in Metter, Georgia to the late Mr. Cesar Cooper and the late Mrs. Emma Chance Cooper. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church, where she served as the President of the Usher Board. She worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, caring for the sick and injured. During her long career as a nurse, she was employed at the Candler County Hospital, Pleasant View Nursing Home, and at several other facilities throughout Georgia.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two husbands: Gussie (Ned) Alvin and Colonel Johnson, and her son, Edgar Alvin.
She leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memory: three sons: Mr. James Cooper, Mr. Danforth Alvin (Liz), and Mr. Ronnie Alvin, all of Metter, Georgia; one daughter, Ms. Debra Alvin of Leesburg, Florida; her sister, Mrs. Dora White of Metter, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Ms. Maureen Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
