Obituary for Donald Dorrell Campbell

Mr. Donald Dorrell Campbell born August 15, 1962 to the late Ms. Mamie Lee Williams and the Late Mr. Donald Campbell. He entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2024 at Evans Memorial Hospital.


At an early age, he became a member of First African Missionary Baptist Church. Dorrell was educated in the school system of Evans County where he graduated in 1980. He was an outstanding athlete for Claxton High School, obtaining MVP in Basketball in 1980. After high school, he joined the Army in 1981, where he served for eight years and received an honorable discharge in 1989.The  military is where he met his love, his wife Mary Nickelson Campbell, who preceded him in death.


He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving daughter, Ms. Donnastasia Campbell; Sisters: Rev. Dr. Cynthia Ashley, Augusta, GA, and Ms. Lisa Campbell, New York; Brothers: Mr. Napoleon Williams, Ft. Pierce, FL, Mr. Tredeski Daniels, Maryland, VA, Mr. Ricky Campbell, Cary, NC, and Mr. Chande (Vera) Campbell,  Suffolk, VA; Aunts: Mrs. Irma (Rudy) Thompson, Edgewater, FL, Ms. Karen Caesar, Vidalia, GA, Dr. Bobbie (Ricky, Sr.) Jordan, Willacoochie, GA, Ms. Hazel Black, Ms. Edith Black, and Ms. Margaret Bryant, all of Columbia, SC.; Uncles: Mr. Larry (Vivian) Campbell, Cartersville, GA, Rev. Donnell (Sharon) Benjamin, Rev. Anthony (Deanna) Benjamin, both of Claxton, GA and Mr. Jeffery (Idella) Benjamin of Ellabell, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
