Obituary for Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hodges
Elizabeth Hodges was born on August 19, 1937 in Metter, Georgia to the late Elder Rufus and Mrs. Flossie Mae Hodges. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 8, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida after an extended illness.

She grew up in Candler County, Georgia, where she attended church and school. Upon reaching adulthood, Elizabeth relocated to Jacksonville, where she was a resident for sixty-three years. Elizabeth was a dedicated disciple of Saint Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church for several years, where she served on the Steward Board.

Elizabeth was a devoted woman of GOD and a faithful servant. She was a prayer warrior, who prayed for everyone, even when she was not feeling her best. She had a gentle soul and a soft demeanor. She always had a word to say to make you feel you were a blessing. Elizabeth’s desire was to always make sure you knew the power of prayer, and that you believed in GOD almighty. She gave to everyone she met. It did not matter what you needed or thought you wanted, if she noticed you did not have it, she gave it, without thought or expectation of receiving anything back. She was a dedicated, empathetic, kind and generous mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and Godmother.

In addition to her parents, two sisters, Rachel H. Lee and Devora H. Williams, and her nephew Frederick Williams, preceded her in death.

Elizabeth leaves the following loved ones to cherish many fond memories: her son, Mr. Alphonso Hodges and her daughter, Ms. Flossie H. Felton, both of Jacksonville, Florida; her sister, Ms. Lillie M. Hodges of Victorville, California; her Goddaughter, Ms. Mary L. Jones and grandson, Bryant D Mixon, both of Jacksonville, Florida; four nieces, five nephews and a host of cousins, friends and prayer warriors.
