Obituary for Felton Brewton, Jr.
Felton "Duck" Brewton, Jr. was born on October 11, 1965 to Felton Brewton, Sr. and the late Mary Ann Brewton, both of Daisy, Georgia. He departed t his life on June 24, 2020 at Memorial Health Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to his lovely wife Trina Brewton: one daughter, Coretta Brewton, and two sons: Kailon and Kenan Brewton.
Felton graduated from Claxton High School in 1984, where he played various sports. In his junior and senior years, he served as captain of the Claxton High Tiger football team. He was known for his articulate football skills as a defensive lineman,
After graduation, Felton was employed by Danny Swain at the Evans County Recreation Department, where he served as a Sports Coach and a Maintenance Technician. After thirty years of service, he retired. Felton also spent several years coaching for the Claxton Middle School and Claxton High School football teams.
in 1986, Felton graduated from The Georgia Peace Officer Standards Training. He began is career with the Claxton Police Department, where he served under Chief Edward Oglesbee. In 1987, Felton transitioned to the Evans County Sheriffs Department, under Sheriff Eddie Bradley. After serving as a deputy for some time, Felton was later promoted to Lieutenant Deputy Sheriff. He conducted drug raids where he was filmed in the movie "Crack Attack" during which he was involved in drug sweeps, house raids, and cleaning the streets from drugs. Felton worked with the Drug Task Force for agents in the cities of Atlanta and Savannah, as well as Bulloch, Candler, and Tattnall counties. Felton continued his work at the Evans County Sheriffs Department under Sheriff Randall Tippins until his death. He spent thirty two years of dedication and devotion as a Law Enforcement Officer. He loved his duties serving and protecting the citizens of Evans county.
In 2009, Felton joined The Living Word Christian Center, under the leadership of the Bishop Caverous J. Boggs. There he served as a District Deacon. He was a devoted member, and worked faithfully within the church until the Lord called him home.
In 2017, Felton opened "Duck's Carwash", a local business which continues to operate successfully. He loved to fellowship with family and friends out in the country. Because of Felton's strong drive and tenacity, he accomplished many goals in his life.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community of Evans county.
