Obituary for Frederick Collins
Mr. Frederick Collins departed this life on August 31, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia after suffering a short illness. He was born in Evans County Georgia on March 1, 1943 to the late Mr. Artis Lee Collins and the late Mrs. Ruby Lightfoot Collins. He joined The First African Baptist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Reverend Lynch. By trade and profession, he was a lead brick mason for fifty-five years.
On August 14, 1971, he married the love of his life, Ms. Genoria Boggs. To this union, two children were born. Preceding him in death were three brothers: Johnny Lee Collins, Harbor Lee Collins, and Jessie Lee Collins; and one daughter, Toshia Lorrine Collins.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Genoria Collins of Claxton, Georgia; one son, Mr. Lamar Collins of Baltimore, MD; two reared grandchildren, Mr. Andravis Roberts of Claxton, Georgia and Ms. Adriannah Collins of Atlanta, Georgia; six brothers: Mr. LeArtis (Mary) Collins of Savannah, Georgia, Mr. Jerry Williams of Claxton, Georgia, Mr. Jeffrey (Minnie Pearl) Williams of Reidsville, Georgia; Mr. Terry (Moesha) Williams of Amarillo, Texas; six sisters: Mrs. Deloris (Herbert) Lewis and Ms. Patricia Williams, both of Claxton, Georgia; Mrs. Doretha (Bobby) Bryant of Dublin, Georgia, Mrs. Luticia (Johnny) Byrd of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mrs. Rose (Kevin) Byrd of Reidsville, Georgia, and Mrs. Tammy Badger of Hinesville, Georgia; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
