Obituary for Gerry Booker Teagle
Sis. Gerry Booker Teagle was called from her earthly home on Wednesday, Oct 6, 2021 from the Augusta University Hospital. Sis. Teagle was born on May 29, 1956 to Mrs. Dora M. Booker and the late, Dec. James Booker. She was reared in Swainsboro GA and attended the Emanuel County School System where she graduated in 1974. After graduation, she attended Albany State University. Gerry held several jobs after attending college. She retired from Crider Poultry. Sis Teagle was a past member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Swainsboro, Georgia. She joined the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful and active member until her passing. She worked in several capacities at the church but will forever be remembered as a faithful member of the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church Choir. She enjoyed attending not only her church but several churches in the surrounding communities. She would take notes of almost every sermon she heard and had notebooks full of sermon topics and notes dated back several years. To know Sis Teagle was to love her. She never met a stranger. She was full of positive energy and could light up a room whenever she entered. She will always be known for her boisterous and energetic character. Her daily inspirational text, to so many people who loved her, will be missed tremendously. Sis. Gerry Teagle was preceded in death by her father, Dec. James Booker. She leaves the following to cherish her memories, her son: Donald Deuce Teagle of Augusta Georgia; her mother: Mrs. Dora M. Booker of Swainsboro, Georgia; two sisters: Ms. Joann Booker of Swainsboro Georgia and Ms. Mary Jenkins of Lakeland, Florida; one brother: Mr. Alphonso Heyward; a very special friend/sister, Ms. Netta Davis of Swainsboro, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
