Obituary for Iredene Mack Woods
On Thursday night, September 3, 2020, Mother Iredene Woods departed this life and was called to her eternal home after a brief illness. She was born July 31, 1941 in Emanuel County, Georgia to the late Mr. James Mack and the late Mrs. Wylynn Mack.
Mother Woods was a graduate of of Swainsboro High School in the year 1960, and was married to Luther (Monk) Woods, Jr. for sixty years. She was a full-fledged, working, serving church member, who joined the First Baptist Church at an early age. She sang in the church choir and served as Church Secretary, until the present time. Mother Woods never sat still; working and serving the Lord was her joy.
She was proceeded in death by her father, James Mack, her mother, Wylynn Mack, and her sister, Mary Lee Mack-Byrd.
Mrs. Iredene Mack-Woods leaves the following loved ones behind to cherish her memory: her daughter, Mrs. Susan Woods-Mincey and son-in-law, Chief Stephen Mincey, both of Stillmore, Georgia; two loving grandsons: Mr. Brandon Mincey (Whitney) of Statesboro, Georgia and Mr. Cameron Mincey of Stillmore, Georgia; two great-grandchildren: Nigeria Mincey and B.J. Mincey, both of whom were the apples of her eye and whom she always called “my babies”; four sisters: Ms. Annette Doyle of Swainsboro, Georgia and Ms. Lou Ann Mack, Ms. Sarah Ann Mack, and Ms. Calley Mack, all of Stillmore, Georgia; one brother, Mr. James Mack, Jr. (Sophia) of Ewing, New Jersey; three sisters-in-law: Ms. Mattie Will Burton (Sam) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mrs. Sallie Mae Durden (George) of Miami, Florida and Ms. Lutchie Ramgoolan (Chris) of Miami, Florida; two brothers-in-law: Mr. Floyd Woods (Cephia Dell) of Orlando, Florida and Mr. Johnny Woods of Nashville, Tennessee; three stepsisters: Mrs. Nanie Glover (David) of Panama City, Florida and Ms. Eddie Dean Allen and Ms. Marie Allen, both of Stillmore, Georgia; and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
