Obituary for Jimmy Darien
On Sunday, March 12, 2017, Mr. Jimmy Darien passed away into eternal rest at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia at the age of 67. He was born May 9, 1949 in Candler County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. Henry Edward Darien and Ms. Nora Victoria Kennedy.

Jimmy was raised from childhood to adulthood by his grandparents, the late Mr. Marshton and Mrs. Mamie Kennedy. He was educated in the public schools of Tattnall County and graduated from Tattnall Industrial High School in 1969. He was employed for many years at Federal Pacific in Vidalia, Georgia. He also spent time working for the City of Metter and doing farm work until a farm accident caused him to become disabled from work. During his life, he accepted Christ and joined Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cobbtown, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish many loving memories: two daughters: Shauna Darien and Kendra (Eugene) Howard, both of Metter, Georgia; four siblings from Georgia: Leroy (Virginia) Darien, Norris Preston Kennedy, Mrs. Mary Kennedy-King, and Donna Myra Kennedy; three siblings from South Carolina: LeVon Darien George, Judy (Allen Arthur) Brumell and Stacy (Dwayne) Cumbee; one sibling from North Carolina: MacAuthur (Kimberly) Darien; two uncles: Wilbert Kennedy of Jacksonville, Florida and Birket C. Kennedy, Sr. of Cobbtown, Georgia; three grandchildren: Brandon Wilkerson, Tyra Howard and Tori Howard, all of Metter, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
