Mrs. Judy Denise Lanier Swint was born on December 31, 1958 in Metter, Georgia to the late Grover S. Lanier Jr. and Mrs. Bearneas Dukes Lanier. She was a 1976 graduate of Metter High School. After graduation, Judy attended Atlanta Junior College and Georgia State University, where she majored in nursing. On December 16, 1978, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Isadore Alphonso Swint Jr. Unto this union, two daughters were born, Nina Leshea and Niki Lakita.
At an early age, Judy accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Mercer Grove Baptist Church. While residing in Atlanta, she was under watch care at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Upon returning to Metter, Judy united with Thankful Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. R.A. Lawrence Jr. She served faithfully on the Usher board and the Mission department. She was the Queen of Victory Association Women’s Auxiliary President and the Middleview Usher’s Convention Program Chair.
Judy worked for 30 years as the administrative assistant at Metter Middle School. After retirement she worked part time at Coastal Plains Charter High School as the office manager. Dedicated to her community, she served on the Metter Housing Authority Board and the Metter Tree Board. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her father, Grover Lanier; her sister, Jean Amos; and her daughter Niki Swint.
Judy lived a life of style and grace, but most importantly, she was a child of God. On November 22, 2022, she went home to be with God and gained her heavenly reward. She leaves the following loved ones behind to cherish her memory: a devoted husband of forty-three years, Dea. Isadore Swint; her daughter, Ms. Nina Swint; and her mother, Mrs. Bearneas Lanier, all of Metter, GA; three sisters: Mrs. Katherine (Ernest) Cunningham of Carneys Point, NJ, Mrs. Letrell (Rev. Gregory) Thomas of Metter, GA, and Ms. Corrinne (Steve) Lanier of Swainsboro, GA; two brothers: Mr. Robert (Dana) Lanier of Philadelphia, PA and Mr. Wesley (April) Howard of Augusta, GA; two aunts, Mrs. Carrie Miller of Pennsauken, NJ and Mrs. Sally Dukes Finch of Atlanta, GA; three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and a host of loving and caring family members.
