On the early morning of Monday, June 24, 2024, Lauren Vera Jackson entered into eternal rest in St. Petersburg, Florida, following a sudden illness. She was born on April 20, 1983 to Agnes Jackson and Vivian (Vip) Redding. Lauren was a God-fearing woman who loved and valued her families, and a relationship with the Lord. She joined the New Bethaven Primitive Baptist Church at an early age.
Her classmates noted her as a smart young woman with great potential. Most important to Lauren was family. She was devoted in her relationships and roles as a mother for her two children, Jayla, Jabien and Lilbit, which is her beloved cat.
Lauren came from a large family which included her mothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. She had a host of relatives and friends. Lauren was preceded in death by her father, Vivian (Vip) Redding, a sister, Natocha Jackson, and an uncle, Kenny Lamar Redding.
She graduated from Vidalia High School in the year of 2001, and went on to pursue a higher education at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia, Georgia, where she hoped to specialize in a medical related program. She entered the Army National Guard in 2001 and received an honorable discharge.
She was most recently working in hospitality and was employed by the Hilton Homes Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was very ambitious, not stopping, and held down a full time position while attending school.
She received a Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding on December 16, 2023 and planned to pursue a career in this field. Her favorite song was “Higher and Higher”.
Lauren was a woman of class, she was genuine, kind, and sweet natured. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.
Survivors include: her children: Jalya and Jabien; her mothers, Agnes Jackson of St. Petersburg, Florida and Yvonne Jackson of Vidalia, Georgia; fathers: Murriel Jackson of Vidalia, Georgia; sisters: Ms. Stephanie Leary, Ocala, Florida; Mrs. Ciere McCall, St. Petersburg, Florida; brothers: Seth Boyd Jackson, Savannah, Georgia; and Samarj Redding, Vienna, Georgia; And Lilbit, her beloved cat. Lauren also leaves to mourn, a cherished uncle: Marcus (Rickie) Redding. She has a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
