Obituary for Lillie Watson
Late Sunday night, September 11, 2016, calmness, quietness and softness encircled the air, descended with peace and serenity and bore the bright spirit of Mrs. Lillie Watson to a serene place of joy and eternal rest in the presence of the Lord. Today closes the life’s chapter and opens God’s promise of eternal life of this faithful soul that endured until the end. As we reflect upon the life of this humble servant, our emphasis is on the quality of her life and the contribution that she made as a Christian, a devoted and loving Mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Lillie was born June 2, 1935, to the late Mr. Joe Williams of Nunez, Georgia and the late Ms. Maggie Phillips of Soperton, Georgia. Mrs. Lillie was a dedicated member of St. Philip Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board for over thirty years. Mrs. Lillie was the devoted wife of the late Mr. Purvis Watson, Jr.
Loving memories will always be treasured by her children: Ms. Betty Watson, Mr. Ronnie Watson, Mr. James Watson, and Mrs. Hattie Parker (Willie Mosley), all of Swainsboro, Georgia; two daughters-in-law: Mrs. Margaret Watson and Mrs. Ann Watson, both of Swainsboro, Georgia; two sisters: Mrs. Pauline Daniel of Swainsboro, Georgia and Mrs. Ruby Smith of Vidalia, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
