Obituary for Louise Berwton
Mrs. Louise L. Brewton, age 75, was born on August 20, 1941 to the late Mr. Joseph Sea and Mrs. Beulah M. Wallace. She departed this life on October 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by one sister Ms. Carlene Knapper.
She attended A.S. Clark public school in Cordele, Ga. She was employed with Southside Estate Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida for 19 years as a cook for the Duval County Board of Education.
She was joined into holy matrimony on April 18,1998 to the late Bishop James Otha Brewton. Together they parented two children, Shayla Bryant-Copeland and Felicia Brown and two grandchildren, Nisjah Bryant and Kiyonna Jackson. Bishop Brewton and First Lady Brewton served 16 years together as leaders of Bible Way Deliverance Church until his death on Friday July 11, 2014. The First Lady continued her role in Ministry as counselor, advisor, encourager, and mother to the members until her health began to fail.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Two daughters: Shayla Bryant-Copeland (Huseem), of Statesboro, Ga., and Felicia Brown also of Statesboro, Ga. Thirteen brothers and sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth (Edward) Buffingtion, Martha (Sammy) McKenzie, Freddie (Vernell) Weldon, Melinda (James) Sims, Willie Weldon, Alvin Weldon, and Bobby J. Hartage, all of Cordele, Ga., Ann(Albert) Mosley, Mary Williams, all of Miami, FL, Willie Mae (Fred) Redding, Hinesville, Ga., Wilene Weldon, Marion, Ohio, Betty Jean Weldon, Townsend, Ga. Four Grandchildren: Jamelle Freeman, Willie Joseph Beverly, Nisjah Bryant and Kiyonna Jackson. Ten step children from the late James Otha Brewton. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
