Obituary for Mary Ann Gainer
Ms. Mary Ann Gainer was born on April 20, 1976 in Metter, Georgia to Mr. Wallace Gainer and the late Mrs. Rebecca Smith Gainer. She attended the Candler County school system and was a member of the Metter High Class of 1996. Mary Ann worked hard all of her life. As a little girl, one of her earliest jobs included picking up pecans and raking yards for neighbors. As she grew into adulthood, she continued to work hard so that she could be independent. Mary Ann worked at Claxton Poultry for a number of years, and later she worked Pleasant View Nursing Center. Her final place of employment was at Georgia Southern University, where she worked for over ten years as a Custodian I, until she became ill. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age, and joined Jones Temple Baptist Church in Jenkins County, Georgia. Mary Ann was a member of the youth choir until she reached adulthood, and she enjoyed fishing, watching movies, listening to music and dancing. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Smith Gainer. Mary Ann Gainer leaves the following loved ones behind to cherish many fond memories: her father, Mr. Wallace Gainer of Metter, Georgia; one daughter, Ms. Esha Mills of Augusta, Georgia; her siblings: Mr. Douglas (Tameka) Smith, Mrs. Brenda (Terry) Deloach, both of Metter, Georgia; two special cousins: Ms. Veronica Gainer of Metter, Georgia and Ms. Towanda Griffin of Statesboro, Georgia; seven aunts: Mrs. Ruth Ann Newton, Mrs. Ola Mae Smith, Mrs. Debbie Taylor, Mrs. Annie Ruth Griffin and Mrs. Lillie Mae Smith, all of Metter, Georgia, Mrs. Annie Liza Fulcher of Cocoa, Florida and Mrs. Mary Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; three uncles: Mr. Buford (Isabella) Smith, Jr., and Mr. Joe H. (Gussie) Smith, both of Metter, Georgia and Mr. Joe Mikell of Nevils, Georgia; five nieces: Ms. Jasmine Smokes of Ellabell, Georgia, Ms. Naquisha Seay of Hinesville, Georgia, Miss Rashawna Deloach and Ms. Vanessiah Wright, both of Metter, Georgia and Ms. Ro-Meisha “Smiley” Wright of Swainsboro, Georgia; two nephews: Mr. Tremayne Collins of Atlanta, Georgia and Mr. Terry Deloach, Jr. of Texas; one great-nephew: Jabari Deloach of Texas; two special friends: Ms. Jessie Cochran of Midville, Georgia and Ms. Cora Washington of Portal, Georgia; and many loving and caring cousins, other relatives and friends.
