Obituary for Netter Diane Knight
Mrs. Netter Diane Hagan Knight, born to the late Thaddaeus L. Hagan and Mrs. Cora Small Hagan on May 30, 1953, departed this life on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Hospital, Statesboro, Georgia, with her loving husband by her side.
Diane was raised in Evans County and attended the Evans County Schools, home of the Long Horns. She was a 1971 graduate of Claxton High School, home of the Tigers. At an early age she joined the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and was very active in the youth department.
In her mid-teens, Diane moved up north to Rochester, New York and later to Elizabeth, New Jersey, where she resided until the early 1980’s. She returned home and to her home church, now The Historic Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She became even more active in church and served in the Choir Ministry, Usher Ministry, Sunday School Ministry and Nurse Aide Ministry. Diane’s love for people prompted her to pursue a career within the health care field, where she worked patiently and tirelessly doing in-home nurse care. After many years of traveling the roads to see and care for her patients and upon retirement, Diane decided to pursue another career and became employed by the Evans County Board of Education as a substitute teacher. She is preceded in death by her father, Thaddaeus L. Hagan, brothers: Willie L. Small and Carl Small, and her sister, Sandra Hagan-Locke.
