Ms. Tammy Terelle Jackson was born April 30, 1975 to Dea. Roger & Mrs. Gladys M. Jackson. She was an active member of New Bethaven Primitive Baptist Church in Collins, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Tommy L. Mercer.
In 2018, Tammy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She had to have open heart surgery to repair an aortic dissection, which was successful! While at home recuperating, Tammy started thinking of things she wanted to accomplish in her life but had put aside. She had spent the majority of her adult life being the greatest mom to two loving children, Temperance T. Holder and Tyrin T. Holder, and the greatest grandmother to Empress C. Cherry, whom she affectionately called “Peanut”.
So in January 2019, Tammy enrolled at the illustrious Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. It was challenging and extremely hard, but so worth it! She worked full time and went to school full time. Tammy completed all her course work in July of 2022 and received her degree in December of 2022. On May 6, 2023, Tammy walked proudly across the stage and accepted her degree. Tammy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Alpha Phi Sigma Fraternity, Inc. (Criminal Justice Honor Society).
On May 7, 2023, Tammy received her wings and leaves the following loved ones to cherish her legacy: two wonderful children: Temperance T. Holder, and Tyrin T. Holder; one granddaughter, Empress C. Cherry; her parents, Dea. Roger and Mrs. Gladys M. Jackson; her sister, her “ACE” and best friend, Erica D. Jackson; four brothers: Eric A. Jackson (Sadiqua), Jamie L. Jackson (LaQuisha), Roderick L. Jackson Sr. (Jasmine) and Treyvian M. Jackson; one great-aunt, Ola Pearl Ellis of Jacksonville, Florida; uncles and aunts: Murriel Jackson (Yvonne), Annie L. Small, Mae Irish Small, James Q.
