Thomas Lattimore Mattox was born January 26,1947 in Hagan, Georgia. He passed into eternal rest on June 14, 2024.
He was the son of the late Lattimore Mattox and the late Elizabeth Mattox Carter. Thomas accepted Christ into his life and joined Green Cypress Baptist Church in Claxton. He attended Evans County High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1965.
Thomas enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 1, 1968, earning the rank of SGT. E-4. He served his country for many years with honor and distinction until his retirement. A hard worker, Thomas was also employed as a cab driver until he established his own lawn care service, which he named “The Lawndry”. Thomas was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, and lived in Aurora, Colorado for many years until his death.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Roberta Mattox; his parents, Lattimore Mattox and Elizabeth Mattox Carter; a brother, Harry Mattox; and a sister, Nokaleta Mattox Candriche.
Thomas Mattox leaves the following loved ones to cherish his memory: his son, Julian Lattimore Mattox; a daughter-in-law, Shekelia Yolanda Mattox; one sister, Clara Mattox Williams; a brother, Marvin Mattox; one grandson, Jalen Lattimore Mattox; a granddaughter, Shanique Mattox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
