Obituary for Trenda Porter
Ms. Trenda Ann Porter was born to Mr. Lucious Alvin Jones and Ms. Willie Lee McCray on June 18, 1969 in Metter, Georgia. On February 11, 2022, she transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family.
Trenda was a native of Claxton, Georgia where she graduated Valedictorian of her class from Claxton High School in 1987. She was employed with the Tattnall County Commissioners Office in Reidsville, Georgia for 21 years. Trenda also worked with Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) for a short period of time.
Trenda was a person who walked with a lot of integrity. She was diligent, quiet, but yet outspoken. A woman of her word, but most of all a beautiful person inside and out. She was a true believer in Christ and was an Angel on earth. At an early age she joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Her reason for living was to be a mother and grandmother. It was her true calling and what she really ever wanted. She was determined to live out her last days mothering her children instead of taking care of herself, that was who she was. She was well known in the community and met no stranger. Trenda was an advocate for most of the children in the Tattnall County area. She will surely be missed by many people. She was preceded in death by her father Lucious Alvin Jones and her brother Lucious Alvin Jones Jr.
She leaves to cherish and honor her many memories forever, her children: Mr. Larry Sherman Bess III (Celesta), Mrs. Abryana Latrenda Murphy (Michael), Ms. Tynisha Angelica Jones, and Ms. Shontasia Yasmine Alexander; her mother, Ms. Willie Lee McCray; her grandchildren: Kevion Wright, Rihanna Bess, Rashawn Bess, Michael Murphy Jr. (MJ), Jacari Murphy, Amir Torres and Milan Murphy; six sisters: Mrs. Mildred Brown (Rufus Jr.), and Ms. Mary Alice Brown, both of Collins, Georgia, Mrs. Vivian Mutcherson (Charlie Sr.) of Pembroke, Georgia, Ms. Mae Doyle of Reidsville, Georgia, Mrs. Lou Brooks (Jimmie Sr.) of McDonough, Georgia and Mrs. Carol Brewton (Roosevelt Jr.) of Hinesville, Georgia; three aunts: Mrs. Ella Mae McCloud, Mrs. Edna Mae McKever and Mrs. Bertha Gross; three uncles: Mr. Felton Brewton Sr., and Mr. Jimmy McKever, both of Daisy, Georgia and Mr. Gordon Linden of New Jersey; like a special brother, Mr. Robert L. Brown of Claxton, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
