Ms. Arethia Mae Barlow Dekle was raised in Metter, Candler County, Georgia. She was born June 28, 1931 to Levy and Karrie Parker Barlow. She attended the public schools of Candler County. She transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, July 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving children. She was a former employee of Pleasant View Nursing and Metter Nursing Homes where she worked until retirement. At an early age, she joined St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her three brothers; Levy Barlow, Jr., Charlie Barlow, Herbert Lee Barlow and two sisters, Annie Ruth McCullough and Willie Mae Lock. She was married to John Roger Dekle. From this union, nine children were born. She leaves to cherish many loving memories, nine children: Rogi Ann Dekle, Tony Dekle (Alfreida), Barbara Dekle (Ulysses), Lila Hall, Cheryl Lanier (Marvin), John Stacey Dekle, Phyllis Eason (Ben), Yolanda Scott, and Aldric Dekle; one sister: Susie Mae Williams of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister-in-law, Lila Mae Barlow of Newark New Jersey; fifteen grand-children and 17 great grand-children; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
