Mrs. Effie O. Dekle Lockley, affectionately known as "Pat", was born on January 9, 1923 in Candler County to late late Will and Effie Dekle. On February 4, 2018, our Lord saw Pat getting weary on her earthly journey and called her home. She was a member of Holy Zion Church in Metter, Georgia. She worked at Pleasant View Nursing Home and the Candler County Board of Education for many years until retirement. At age 95, Pat was preceded in death by:her husband of fifty-two years, Tom Dekle; two sons, George Dekle and Jerry Dekle; her second husband of twelve years, Deacon Thomas Lockley; and seventeen siblings. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: three sons: Tom W. (Mae Sue) Dekle, Butler (Val) Dekle, and Lester (Mamie) Dekle; two daughters: Sara Dekle and Fronita (Lee) Jones; a granddaughter raised as a daughter, Barbara (Jerry) Stokes; a daughter-in-law: Patricia Dekle; twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren, thirty great-great grandchildren and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
