Mrs. Estella Mae Doll Hughes ended her journey on May 14, 2018 in Stillmore, Georgia. She was born in Miami, Florida on March 11, 1946 to the late Mr. Harvey Bell and the late Ms. Eva Mae Brinson. She was the baby of four sisters. Estella was preceded in death by her mother and father, and two sisters: Mattie Lou Jones and Emma Jean Carlton. On July 28, 1961, Estella married Alphonso Pete Hughes. From this union, six children were born. One son, Alonzo Hughes, preceded her in death. Estella raised her children in Stillmore, Georgia. She worked various jobs as a cook, which she enjoyed doing. She was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church in Garfield, Georgia earlier in life, and attended First Baptist Church in Stillmore, Georgia later in life. Estella leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Mr. Alphonso Hughes of Stillmore, Georgia; one daughter, Ms. Cassandra Lowe of Stillmore, Georgia; four sons: Mr. Dwain Hughes (Lisa) of Swainsboro, Georgia, Mr. Dwight Hughes of Gwinnett, Georgia, Mr. Frazier Hughes (Mary) of Stillmore, Georgia, and Mr. Charles Hughes (Tammy) of Snellville, Georgia; one sister, Ms. Rosie Woods of Atlanta, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, twenty-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
