Obituary

Mrs. Ethel Reeves Morgan was born on November 26, 1927, one of nine children born to the union of the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Elizabeth Reeves. She attended the Candler county public school system, where she continued her education until she graduated. After graduating, she began working as a seamstress. Ethel was united in Holy Matrimony to Robert C. Morgan in 1943, and to this union, five children were born: Bobby, Eugenia, Lowell, Jowell, and Curtis. Mrs. Ethel worked as a seamstress during her entire working life. She was employed at Rodenware and Oxford, where she worked until retirement. She found Christ at an early age, and always knew her purpose was to serve the Lord and allow Him to use her to do great things. She joined Steep Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful member. She was in the Adult Choir and also taught Sunday School. As her health began to decline, she moved her membership to New Beth Haven Primitive Baptist Church, which was closer to home. She began to visit the various churches of Collins. Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Morgan Sr.; two sons: Robert (Bobby) Morgan, Jr. and Curtis Morgan; one daughter-in-law, Jain Morgan; one sister-in-law, Lara Smith; her sisters: Beulah Holloway, Eunice Freeman, Julia Burton, and Ola Mae Mincey; her brothers: Willie Reeves, Author Reeves, Joseph Reeves, and Solomon Reeves. Mrs. Ethel Reeves Morgan was called to rest on the evening of Tuesday, January 26, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters: Mrs. Eugenia Tillman (Ollie) of Metter, Georgia and Gwen Holms of Claxton, Georgia; two sons: Mr. Lowell Morgan (Deborah) of Maryland and Mr. Jowell Morgan (Jackie) of Gainesville, Florida; nine grandchildren: Tara, Ollie, Jowell, Jr., Chris, Tinisha, Emmanuel, Kyle, Kayla, and Kerria; five great-grandchildren: Keshawn, Fredrick, Dmari, Jordan, and JourNee; one great-great grandchild: Elijah Morgan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
