Mrs. Georgie Lee Mincey was born on April 11,1957, in Metter Georgia to the late Willie Mae Mincey. On Saturday August 30, 2025, she transitioned from this life at home.
To everyone she was known as" Georgie Lee", she never met a stranger, and was loved by everyone. Georgie Lee was a woman who conducted business in a manner that was decent and in order. She was very outspoken, but to know her was to love her. Family meant everything to Georgie Lee. She expressed her love and kept her family together by having gatherings and cooking big meals. But the invite wasn't just for family, she extended it to the community! If you were hungry and she had food at any time you were welcome. To her family she was the "Matriarch".
Georgia Lee attended the Candler County school system, where she enjoyed being the softball water girl. After finishing school, she was employed at Claxton Poultry Farm for twenty-plus years until she was presented with a better job opportunity. The job opportunity and advancement was with Walmart Distribution Center, where she worked until she retired.
Georgie Lee was preceded in death by her mother, and two brothers: Hershel Mincey and Lee Edward Mincey.Georgie Lee is survived by two sons: DeMarlo (Tomasina) Mincey and Ramon (LaToya) Brown, both of Metter, Georgia; a daughter-in-love: Ms. Donna McQuater of Metter, Georgia; three sisters: Pastor Margaret (Dennis) Weaver of Twin City, Georgia; Ms. Karen Donaldson of Metter, Georgia and Ms. Grace Brack of Statesboro, Georgia; four brothers: Mr. Willie Louis Simmons, Mr. Wade Mincey, Mr. Elisha Mincey, and Mr. Kermit (Glenis) Donaldson, all of Metter, Georgia; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Carol Mincey and Mrs. Linda Mincey, both of Metter Georgia; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a best friend of many years Mrs. Kathy Spann; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
