Gracie Slater-Davis, born May 7, 1927, passed away at home on Sunday, Jan. 14. She was born in Liberty County, Ga., and attended school at Taylor's Creek in Hinesville. She was married to Cleveland Nick Davis and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Green Cypress Church Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Stars of Statesboro. She was also a member of the Baptist Burial Society Auxillary. Gracie is survived by seven children, Lula Smith of Miami, Fla., Lottie Brown of Miami, Fla., Shirley Childers of Claxton, Donnell Davis of Claxton, Carol Pryor of Reidsville, N.C., Carolyn Davis of Claxton and May Cox of Statesboro; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
