Mrs. Idella King Coney was born December 17, 1935 in Screven County to the late Mr. John Arthur King and the late Ms. Agnes Ellison. She attended Byrd Jr. High School in Pulaski, Georgia. As a young lady, she spent most of her time working at Georgia Southern University as head cook, and she also worked on her family's farm. She had a love for flowers, cooking, singing, family and attending the Church of Christ in Metter, Georgia. It was at the Church of Christ that she met the love of her life, Mr. Ira Willie Coney. In 1953, they were married and had fourteen children. She was preceded in death by her parents, John King and Agnes Ellison; her husband, Ira Willie Coney; her siblings: James King, Annie Lea Jackson and John King, Sr.; three children: Rose Marie Coney, Willie Arthur Coney and Steve Alton Coney; and two great-grandchildren: Gwenella Jordan and McKenzie Faith Marks. Mrs. Idella Coney leaves her precious memory to her children: Ms. Della Mae Coney, Ms. Betty Ann Lanier, and Ms. Willie Pearl Coney, all of Metter, Georgia, Mrs. Jewel Lynn Shipman (Willie), and Ms. Gwen Coney, both of Statesboro, Georgia, Mr. James Ira Coney, Mr. Tony Coney, Mr. Thelous Levern Coney and Mr. Leo Coney, all of Metter, Georgia; one Goddaughter, Mrs. Dradine Addison Graham of Jacksonville, Florida; five stepchildren: Mr. Willie Coney (Minnie) of Collins, Georgia; Mr. Randy Coney (Michelle), Mr. Vine Lee Coney, Mr. Isaac Coney, and Ms. Mary Faye Johnson, all of Metter, Georgia; two sisters-in-law: Ms. Queenie Jameson (Leon) of Metter, Georgia and Ms. Josie Smith (Willie) of Miami, Florida; two brothers-in-law: Mr. Waldo Coney of Metter, Georgia and Mr. Leo Coney (Trish) of Homestead, Florida; thirty grandchildren, seventy great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
