Obituary

Ms. Jacquelyn Benjamin Montgomery passed away peacefully in her home on January 25, 2021. She was born on September 15, 1950 to the late Rev. James Benjamin, Sr. and Mrs. Juanita Jones Benjamin, both of Claxton, Georgia. She was a 1968 graduate of the infamous Evans County Longhorns. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she held employment in the administrative field. In her early childhood, she was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. In 2005, she received Christ in her life at the Living Word Christian Center in Lyons, Georgia under the leadership of Bishop C.J. Boggs, where she served on the Mother's Board. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Mr. Johnny Lee Benjamin (Barbara Ann), Mr. Stevenson Benjamin (Brenda), Mr. Robert Benjamin, and Mr. Larry Benjamin. Mrs. Jacqueline Montgomery leaves the following loved ones to treasure her life and love: three children: Mrs. Tracey Wilson (Clarence) of Claxton, Georgia, Mr. Kevin McCoy, Sr. (Montra), and Mr. Erick Brown (Deidre), both of Vidalia, Georgia; five grandchildren: Latesha McCoy (Qamal) of Hinesville, Georgia, Tristian McCoy (Mallory) of Tallahassee, Florida, Kevin McCoy, Jr. (Shavon) of Riverdale, Georgia, Hevin Davis of Athens, Georgia, and Erick Brown, Jr. of New York; three brothers: Mr. James Benjamin, Jr. (Marilyn) of Orlando, Florida, Deacon Barto Benjamin (Vera) of Hinesville, Georgia, and Mr. Gregory Benjamin of Stockbridge, Georgia; three sisters: Ms. Catherine B. Grant of St. Marys, Georgia, Mrs. Carol B. Parker (Hillard) of Hampton, Georgia, and Mrs. Juanita B. Parker (Radford) of Albany, Georgia, three aunts: Ms. Luretha Tillman and Mrs. Nita Bell Baker, both of Claxton, Georgia, and Ms. Thelma Jones of Dublin, Georgia; four great-grandchildren; and a host of beautiful nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
