Ms. Leacy B. Moore was born on September 9, 1939 in Bulloch County, GA to Mr. Choicy Miller and Mrs. Mattie Walker Miller. She took her journey to a new life on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Candler County Hospital in Metter, GA. Early in life, Leacy was married to E.J. McCormick, and to this union six children were born. One son, Ricky Leon McCormick, preceded his parents in death. Years later, Leacy was joined in marriage to John Moore, and together they had one child. She lived her entire life in and around Metter, where she became a member of Lakeside First Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church. Leacy attended the local schools of Candler county. She earned a living as a farm worker and housekeeper, but she also took time to raise and care for her children. She earned her GED though an Adult Literacy Program and she also completed a Nursing Assistants course. Leacy was a member of the Senior Citizens Club in Metter, and two of her favorite hobbies included cooking and making people laugh. On March 27, 2016, Leacy passed into eternal rest after an extended illness. She leaves to mourn her passing: four sons: Eddie McCormick (Wyonnie), and Anthony McCormick, both of Metter, GA, Burnell McCormick (Donna) of Gainesville, GA and Trini McCormick (Charissa) of Savannah, GA; two daughters: Angela McCormic and Deidra Williams (James), both of Metter, GA; honorary daughters: Tisha Wright, Wamikea Mikell, Robbin Brunson, and Kendra Holloway.
