Obituary

Ms. Margaret Stafford of Claxton, Georgia was born November 10, 1943 to the late Mr. Benjamin and Mrs. Rosetta Stafford. She departed this life on April 28, 2022 after a long illness. Ms. Stafford was active in the church from a very young age and known for her beautiful singing voice. She was a faithful member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and was once director of the senior choir. She continued serving at a church in Waycross, GA and most recently under the ministry of her son, Pastor Gregory Stafford. She was educated in Evans County and worked as a teacher at Head Start. She was preceded in death by: one son, Stevie Stafford; siblings: Mrs. Lou Audrey Hayes, Mrs. Catherine Lucas, Mrs. Elease Freeman, Mrs. Essie Mae Allen, Mrs. Juanita Mobley, Mr. Ben E. Stafford, and Mr. Virgil Stafford. Ms. Stafford leaves the following loved ones who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted sons: Mr. Mikell Stafford and Rev. Gregory (Candace) Stafford of Richmond Hill, Georgia; her surviving sister, Ms. Dorothy Stafford of Claxton, Georgia; twelve grandchildren: Malcolm Moore of Alabama, Daphne Baldwin, Darius Jamal (DJ) Stafford, QuaTasha (Shan) Allen, Hannah Stafford and Hope Stafford, all of Georgia; Tawanda Stafford, Kala Stafford, LaKeisha Stafford, Karen Stafford, Mikell Stafford, Jr., Isaiah Stafford, all of New Jersey; several great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
