On July 28, 2016, the Lord called Mrs. Minnie Lee Franklin Calhoun home from Augusta University Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born on April 18, 1939 in Lexsy, Georgia to the late Mr. Joe T. Jordan and the late Mrs. Beatrice E. Jordan. She was educated in the Emanuel County school system and worked many years as a caretaker for others. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Harry Franklin. Mrs. Minnie Lee Calhoun leaves the following loved ones behind to cherish many fond memories: her loving husband, Mr. Peter Calhoun of Swainsboro, Georgia; two sons: Mr. Lamar Franklin, Jr. (Erica) and Mr. Joe Cephus Franklin (Bobbie), both of Swainsboro, Georgia; two stepdaughters: Ms. Jane Calhoun and Ms. Gretta Calhoun, both of Greenwood, South Carolina; two brothers: Mr. Samuel J. Jordan, Sr. (Debra) and Mr. Joseph Jordan, both of Swainsboro, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Sharon Jordan of Waynesboro, Georgia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
