Mrs. Minnie Lee Griffin Newkirk passed into eternal rest on Sunday, November 22nd after an extended illness. She was born on January 7, 1935 in Millen, Georgia to the late Mr. Foye Griffin and the late Ms. Nettie Powell. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Mrs. Newkirk was married to the late Mr. Charlie Newkirk of Metter. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom preceded her in death: Bobby Carlie, Jerome Griffin, Patricia Newkirk Jones, Ricky Newkirk, and Sarah Newkirk. Ms. Newkirk leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memory: Mr. Charles Newkirk and Mrs. Loretta Mikell (Fred), both of Metter, Georgia, Mr. Billy Newkirk of Virginia, and Mr. Robert Newkirk (Sally) of Millen, Georgia; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
