Obituary

Our heavenly Father in his infinite wisdom called our beloved, Mrs. Rubie McNear, home from labor to reward on September 16, 2018 at 9:33am. She was born in Bulloch County, Register, Georgia on April 27,1932 to the late Mr. Tuddy Smith and the late Ms. Nellie Chappel. She left Georgia in 1954 and moved to New York City, where she married Mr. Dennis McNear. She spent most of her adult years in New York, and worked briefly in various trades before becoming a full-time homemaker for her family. She later returned to Jacksonville Florida in 2007, where she remained until the Lord called her home Rubie gave her life to Christ and attended Evergreen Missionary Baptist church in Jacksonville, Florida, where Reverend Elbert Moreland is pastor. She was preceded in death by: both parents; her husband, Dennis McNear; her daughters: Susie Mae Keyes and Ethel Mae Houston and her stepdaughter, Angelia McNear. Memories of Mrs. Rubie McNear are cherished by her three sons: Mr. Denver Houston and Mr. Eddie Houston, both of Jacksonville, Florida and Mr. Dennis Jermaine Davis of New York; one stepdaughter, Ms. Annette McNear of Vidalia, Georgia; her loving brother, Mr. Elbert Chappel of Metter Georgia; four sisters: Ms. Carolyn Pittman and Ms. Mildred Daniels, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Ms. Earlean Daniels of Metter, Georgia, and Ms. Barbara Osborne of Savannah, Georgia; five granddaughters: Mrs. Ortavia Keyes-Anderson (Darryl) of Savannah Georgia, Ms. Suelind Houston of New York, Ms. Artishia Williams of Virginia, Ms. Tasha Houston and Ms. Shanita Scott, both of New York; two grandsons: Mr. Luther Houston and Mr. Earl Scott, Jr., both of New York; twenty-four great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
